Laura Wood, at the Thinking Housewife, has written about this episode, which I hoped to cover here.

Under: The Model Minority: Nuts and Nepotism Edition, the correspondent who sent Laura the information writes:
Note that the Korean executive who sent a flight back to the gate at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York because a flight attendant served nuts improperly has not completely resigned from all her positions, and that she is the daughter of the CEO of Korean Air.

This sort of imperial behavior is par for the course in Asian companies. The captain of the airplane wouldn’t dare disagree with her even in the face of considerations such as local air safety regulations, causing delays for flights stacked up for takeoff/landing, etc., as he has been trained from birth to accede to social hierarchy in all things. Even in a foreign country like the U.S.A.
It is fascninating to follow these stories, and to find them slowly playing out in our own societies.
