Ethiopia's Elections - A Strong and United Ethiopia

[This article was in draft form, originally written on June 24, 2021]

Prime Minister Abiy completed his promised election in Ethiopia, with more than a dozen parties. All that is left is ballot count, and he is the clear winner.

It was extraordinary. People voted! It was not so much the "vote" but the promise that each person can have his say, and will be part of the collective, national decision. Ethiopians can have their say, is what Abiy said, and delivered. "I have a duty to chose whomever will represent me," said one, who came late after work.

And one old lady, possibly in her seventies, said: "I came happily, I came happily to choose." And her wishes for Abiy: "May they [this is is a polite, formal, way for saying "he"] live in peace...And let Ethiopia grow, let her live, let her live for us."

"Thanks be to God," says another women. "May God bless our country, and make it peaceful."

And one man says: "And the results after the election, and until the election results are revealed, then each one of us should protect our country with care, keeping the peace, as we wait for the results."

Each person, in the wisdom of the unsophisticated, simply says that he came because he was given the chance to decide.

But, there is also a unique intelligence of these sincere, and patient people. They have been through so much, and yet they are not bitter. They accepted to come with trust, and faith.

Of course, Abiy's promise is democracy, which, I am sure even he realizes is a symbolic promise, a promise that people can live their lives free from fear.

All those critics, naysayers, and those that put obstacles, whether physical, ideological, or simply diffusing subtly damning words, can now rethink their positions.

I think that this is a new era for Ethiopia. There are enemies throughout. None of the media reported on this, other than a Reuters report, and BBC-Africa report, which was more vicious than reporting. "You have war and famine in Tigray" says the female Ugandan BBC-Africa reporter, who was sent to Ethiopia for the election. "There is no war, there is no famine in Tigray," tells her the clearly irritated, but patient, Abiy, who knows who these people are and what their agenda is. He waves her off after her persistence, and walks away.

Western countries, i.e. Western liberal countries, completely ignored this. There is nothing from the US or Canada. No well-wishers for Ethiopia - Biden and Trudeau are completely silent. Nothing from England or France (Macron was supposedly Abiy's "buddy" - they are the under-fifties leaders).

I believe they want him to fail. A strong and united Ethiopia means a strong region, and who wants that? Better war and famine.

It is fascinating for all these reasons. I think it is a historical moment. And those that wouldn't see it as such, and who put obstacles in its place over these years, shame on them.

Trump is Getting Back on Track

Here is the full transcript for: Fox News Sunday interview with President Trump, if the video is no longer available.

Below, I have posted what I think are the important points.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

President Trump refused to be bullied by fake-new Fox reporter Chris Wallace, who questioned him on the new book out about his family, by his niece, who went on a mission to destroy Trump, and especially Trump's father.

Here is the telling part during the interview, around 31 minutes:
My father liked to win. My father was a very good man, he was a strong man. It's disgraceful that she said that. She was not exactly a family favorite...She writes a book that so stupid and so vicious. And it's a lie.

My father was a great wonderful man.

It hurts me more about attacking my father [than attacking me], not being kind to my mother. I have a mother who was like a saint. She was incredible. She was an incredible woman. And she [...] was nasty even to my mother.

[...]

She [the author] was not much of a family person.

[...]

My father was...I think he was the most solid person I have ever met. And he was a very good person. He was a very very. good person. He was strong, but he was good. For her to say that kind of things. A psychopath? That he was a psychopath? Anybody who knew Fred Trump would call him a psychopath?! And you know what? If he was, I would tell you.

[...]

My father, he was tough. He was tough for me. He was tough on all of the kids. But tough in a solid sense. In a really good sense.

[...]

That book is a LIE!
And Trump and his take on Fox News:
I'm not a big fan of Fox, I'll be honest with you. They've changed a lot since Roger Ailes.

[...]

Look, I know you very well. I know your father very well [referring to Mike Wallace]. He was one of the most talented journalists there are. And you likewise are a very talented person.

I do think this. I think you are a very, uh. I think you are toward the Democrat side. Which is ok...
[KPA Note: Which Chris Wallace of course denies, with "footage" to prove, which he shows]
It just seems to me that you are very prone to be with the Democrats, and maybe I'm wrong about that Chris. But it's an honor to be with you.
[KPA Note: Regarding the elections]
Trump: I don't think I'm going to lose at all.

Wallace: But if you did, how crushing would it be?

Trump: First of all, let me tell you something. I know everyone wants to know that because they'd LOVE to see me lose...Do you know how many times I've been written off?...
[KPA Note: Wallace persists with the "lose" question. And Trump doesn't take the bait]
And you know why I won't lose? Because the country in the end, they're not going to have a man whose shot. He's shot.
[KPA Note: Trump points to his head indicating that Biden is not right in the head]
Trump: He's mentally shot.

Let him come out of his basement and go around. I'll make four five speeches a day. I'll be interviewed by you. I'll be interviewed by the worst killers that hate my guts. They hate my guts. There's nothing they can ask me I that won't give a proper answer to. Some people will like it, some people won't like it.

Wallace: I agree with that.

Trump: But look. Let Biden sit through an interview like this. He'll be on the ground crying for Mommy. He'll say "Mommy, Mommy! Please take me home!"

Wallace: We've asked him for an interview, sir.

Trump: He can't do an interview. He's incompetent.

There's a number you haven't mentioned. It's the "enthusiasm number." The enthusiasm for Trump is through the roof. Even higher than last time. The enthusiasm for Biden in non-existent. Everyone knows he's shot.

Wallace: But the enthusiasm AGAINST YOU is high.

Trump: Well, that's OK. That's his only shot.

Wallace: Right.

Trump: That's his only shot. I agree. And those people know I'm doing a good job. But there's something in my personality that they don't like.

Because look. Nobody's done what I've done!

Biden wants to come in and ruin our country.

[...]

He will destroy this country.

But. It won't be him. It will be the radical left. The same type of ideology that took over Venezuela, one of the richest countries in the world. They now have no water. They've not food. And they have no medicine.

That's gonna happen here if he wins.
[KPA Note: The devious Wallace asks this as his "final" questions]:

Wallace: Are you a good loser?

Trump: I'm not a good loser. I don't like to lose. I don't lose too often. I don't like to lose.

Wallace: But are you gracious?

Trump: You don't know until you see. It depends.

I think mail-in voting is going to rig the election. I really do.

[...]

Wallace: Whether it's in 2021 or 2025, how will you regard your years as President of the United States?

Trump: I think I was very unfairly treated. From before I even won, I was under investigation by a bunch of thieves, crooks. It was an illegal investigation.

Wallace: But what about the good parts, sir?

Trump: No, no. I want to say this. I have done more than any President in US history in the first three and a half years, and I have done it suffering through an investigations

[...]

The Russia Hoax, it was all a hoax. The Muller Scam, it was all a scam. It was all false.

I made a bad decision. One bad decision: Jeff Sessions. Now I feel good because he lost overwhelmingly in the great state of Alabama.

Here's the bottom line. I've been very unfairly treated. And I don't say that as paranoid. Everybody says it. It's going to be interesting to see what happens. But there was tremendous evidence right now as to how unfairly treated I was.

[...]

Let’s see what happens. Despite that, I did more than any president in history in the first three and a half years.

Misinforming the American Public

I wrote recently of the cut-and-paste "journalism" that I coined for Steve Sailer's style of writing which I discuss in a longer post here: Ethiopia's Independence and Strength.

The very last comment (#58) in Sailer's article Minnesota is Turning into a Front in the Ethiopian Civil War comments section is by:
stephen 🇬🇧
@LFC_blano
Always Loyal ☆ Fortune Favours The Brave ☆
BRITISH AND PROUD
"stephen" has attached a video with his comment:

Of course, besides the non-identification of the statue-destroyers, and the pending investigations by the London police, it is TOTALLY reasonable to associate this vandalism with "Ethiopians" (sarcasm alert).

The language that these vandals are speaking is not Amharic, the official and historical language of Ethiopia, but the regional Oromigna. Thus, clearly and unequivocally, these vandals are Oromo, who, like their counterparts in Addis Ababa, simply wish the destruction of the historical Ethiopia.

Steve Sailer has left this piece of twitter in the comments section of his Oromo article (which I have discussed here), adding to more misinformation for the American public.

This, as I have written before, adds to my gathering of proof that American leaders, left or right, are strategizing toward a subdued Ethiopia.

A strong Ethiopia will be difficult to coerce into the various Middle East policies that America, and I am convinced in conjunction with Israel, is currently developing.

As I wrote in my recent post Ethiopia's Independence and Strength about the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, which is now in its final stages of being filled, a strong and independent Ethiopia is not what these global powers want in northern Africa.

Sailer knows the implications of this, and he left the post and its comments for all to be misinformed.

COVID as the Great Delineator

City Centre Lockdown
Photo take Sunday May 17, 2020
By: KPA

The COVID Scamdemic has shown us how easy it is to disrupt and uproot whole countries, whole economies, whole societies.

I took a set of photographs around the Mississauga Civic Centre, and the adjacent Square One Shopping Centre and its parking lots in mid-March, shocked by the parking lots which emptied days after the first announcements of COVID, and posted them on April 9: City Centre Lockdown.

On May 9, a month later, I posted a commentary I wrote in mid-March, which I titled Death through Acquiescence.

Two months later, nothing has changed. Ontario's Premier, Doug Ford, promised of "gradual" openings starting in June, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Those that we trusted as mediators of information, analysts and interpreters of opaque Orwellian language, betrayed us. I can only deduce that they are complicit, either directly through financed support (what else is there?) or through deliberate activity to disrupt and destroy.

Whole cities of grownups have been reduced to infantile acquiescence for a virus that hardly makes it up the Richter scale. Whole economies have bent to the order of shutdowns and lockdowns.

And no-one says anything! Some smugly sit in their dubious castles, others sing praise to Western ingenuity, as their very leaders behave like quivering epileptics, convulsed by invisible spiritual forces.

Lies, lies and more lies is what we've got with COVID, and those we thought we trusted have said NOTHING.

I posted my City Centre Lockdown images on April 9, and wrote Death through Acquiescence in March 17, which I posted on May 9, a month later. I wrote: "The world belongs to us, now. We are the inheritors, and its spokespeople. All else want its destruction."

Now nearing June, my impressions have not changed one iota. And neither has the City Centre Lockdown.

Michelle Malkin Presidential Campaign on Social Distancing
(Not a Brimelow Joke)

Malkin as the Socially Distant President
Video here

The screen shot above is from the video conversation between Michelle Malkin and Peter Brimelow, who is doing a series of these live streams. I commented on one between Brimelow and Derbyshire, where Brimelow made a joke (flat and inconsequential) on "social distancing."

The title to the image comes from Brimelow's suggestion to Malkin (around the 50 second mark):
Brimelow: ...my definition of a Civic Nationalist: Someone who's willing to vote for Michelle Malkin for President when she runs on a platform of immigration moratorium...So, tell us, when are you going to declare, Michelle?
Malkin: The prospect of me going back to Washingtonian in any form is really not attractive to me at all...
Brimelow: Social Distancing. It can be a socially distant president..."
The generally abrasive, and constantly angry, Michelle Malkin, about whom I wrote on May 15 on her reaction to the COVID-SCAM, has done her one-on-one with VDare's Peter Brimelow.

In my May 15 article on Malkin, I was trying to figure out her definitive position on the COVID-SCAM. I concluded that her commentary was inconclusive:
In any case, as usual with our off-Main-Stream-Media, they cannot make up their minds, or more precisely, cannot come up with their own data analyses and conclusions that COVID is not much to write about other than to compare it with other phenomena, such as immigration.
Earlier on, in my commentary on the Brimelow-Derbyshire video conversation, I speculate if VDare and their followers actually want the social, financial, and cultural ruin of our West, and the world over, really, a "global Gotterdammerung, to start their America on a clean, white slate.":
The discussion between Derbyshire and Brimelow centered around black crimes on whites, which is the repetitive, mantra-like, redundant postings through which VDare has made its trademark, over the couple of decades it has existed.

I have to speculate whether it is something that they wish for, some kind of racial war, to start the machinations of a global Gotterdammerung, to start their America on a clean, white slate.

The populations that are suffering due to this "pandemic" at much higher levels are the poor, mostly black and other "people of color," although not due to illness or death, but through financial loss of jobs and savings.
Near the end of the interview, the Brimelow-Malkin discussion does touch upon the COVID-SCAM social, cultural, and financial upheaval, but wraps it around immigration control, the scamdemic being a useful tool to start closing off and monitoring that porous border.
Brimelow: I really think that's what's happening with social distancing now. We're going to have to get used to all these epidemic diseases coming in because apparently it won't stop immigration from the Third World.

When I wrote Alien Nation I said I thought immigration was the wild card that would get immigration to public debate. But in fact, it turned out to be terrorism and they had to tell a lot of lies to suppress that problem. Now they're going to tell a lot of lies about a disease. But this is like at least the third wave of diseases that have come in since Alien Nation (Brimelow's 19... book) was written..

[...]

But the thing is social distancing...i like price and wage control. Massive overkill to what's going on...I think. Does that make sense to you?

Malkin: Yeah, absolutely, and I alluded to this in my column today at VDare [KPA:...I posted on it here] and this paradox of the government both overreacting and under-reacting.

Brimelow. Part of the problem is that they just won't be frank about it. For two months, three months, we've been writing about the disease, the racial issue...the racial differences in susceptibility.

[...]

And then quite suddenly in the past week, it has been politically correct to write about it, because it turns out that American blacks were unusually susceptible. And therefore it is useful to for basically guilting out the whites again.

And near the very end, the "Pandemic" gets a fleeting mention by Malkin, in relation of course to immigration ....

Malkin
: But when the pandemic dies down, (if it dies down), that he's [Trump's] intent on pushing congress to pass the DACA deal after the Supreme Court.
So what if a disproportionate number of American citizens who are black (and brown - how about that, Michelle M., but what does she have to worry, with her Jewish/"white" husband) are in danger of the social and financial consequences of this disease. Our whole purpose is to support and represent the white race.

In fact, so what if a substantial number of poor whites are also affected by this scamdemic. Our purpose is "America First!"

When principle becomes subordinate to purpose, then anything goes.

Once again, the discussion between Brimelow and Malkin hardly touches the COVID-SCAM, and the effusive Malkin, bestowed with Brimelow's praise, and encouragement, on her battle for America, seems to be on the road to the Presidency, or at least start off with a Mayorship for Colorado Springs, CO, as she coyly defers from discussing with her protege Brimelow.

I have to add, the "conservative" Malkin, who dresses anything but conservatively, presents herself thus at a recent presentation in 2019 at the annual Western Conservative Summit, in 2019.

By the way, it was really difficult to find out the topic of Malkin's presentation, let alone the title. It is as though we should blindly accept that whatever these "immigration" critics say or write about is sacrosanct, and needs no more than their names. I believe Malkin was simply a "guest speaker" during a luncheon session, according to this schedule.

And Malkin, whose husband is Jewish, and who is purportedly Filipino Catholic, has two children, whom she raises as... what?

It is the usual story of contemporary conservatives, usually in some grip with Jewish influence, without a Christian spiritual principle to guide their ways, as I wrote here, here, and here, amongst many other posts, who use their pent up energy to deflect the issues towards other "pressing" items, like black crime, and of course, immigration, as America, Canada, and the West are being destroyed by a fake disease, which NONE of them have brought up in their copious interviews and discussions.

So, it bears repeating, as I have done in several of my recent blogs, on this absence of intelligent commentary on the scamdemic:
I have to speculate whether it is something that they wish for, some kind of racial war, to start the machinations of a global Gotterdammerung, to start their America on a clean, white slate.
Hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Death through Acquiescence

Below is what I wrote on March 17, as I was just beginning to understand this "pandemic."

-------------------------------------

It's fascinating. A pathetic virus (sane people slip out that it is a variation of the flu) is running the world.

I was watching the news (CNN, CBS, NBC, and the Canadian CBC and CTV) during the first announcements of the "pandemic," and they are all alarmists.

Don't the newscaster have any shame? A virus which by epidemiology standards is NOT an epidemic, let alone a "pandemic" is running the world.

Of course, the news has to have been manipulated.

As the coronavirus map shows, the virus has "bypassed" most of the world, including the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, the Horn of Africa, etc. Even Canada seems immune, but you wouldn't know it with the public panic attack.

It IS the Western World under attack. Europe, the beautiful Italy, Spain, France and of course England and Britain.

The maps, the talking heads, the "experts," the "doctors," and some "news analysts" all talk in apocalyptic language.

The Western World will die with a pathetic acquiescence of a contrived disease. Not through some glorious outrage and uproar.

For us, for me, it is good to know where we stand. Let them all fumigate in the mire of their own making. Let them reject and deny God, and follow the Devil's directions.

It is a fascinating, and exciting time.

The world belongs to us, now. We are the inheritors, and its spokespeople. All else want its destruction.

I have revived my Museum of Beauty idea, which I hope to develop into an online presence. There are lots of sane people out there who have had enough of these usurpers.

This is a clever, ingenious, strategy: creating a non-virus to affect our civilization.

But nature is honest. And the birds are chirping the arrival of Spring. Flowers will be blooming soon.

So, have a good day!

Chinese Aesthetics: Where Harmony and Cohesion
Trumps Individuality and Innovation

I came across this statement I made at Camera Lucida in August, 2008, shortly after the Summer Olympics that were held in Beijing, China that year:
...the Chinese are content to maintain the authoritarian, collective culture that has been part of their tradition for eons.
And I wrote an article on the Beijing Olympics with that quote as the guiding idea.

From an unpublished article on the 2008 Olympics in Chinese: Zhang Yimou: Spokesman for China
Written by KPA September 12, 2008
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zhang Yimou: Spokesman for China

The Beijing Olympics opening ceremony was directed by the world-famous, Oscar nominated Chinese film director Zhang Yimou. His exquisitely shot films show young brides, concubines, and peasant women consumed by the monolithic forces that these women (and it is often women) find themselves in.

The films’ storylines are often bewildering to Western viewers. Are we to sympathize with the characters, is Yimou agreeing with the forces of authority, is he so fatalistic that he cannot see any other story? We are led to believe that the unique beauties - of the young girls, of the surrounding scenery, or in the case of Ju Dou, the lusciously dyed textiles - will overcome anything. But they don’t, and these young women, once distinctive in their charms and their quests, can never escape their culture’s expectations, and are forced to sacrifice their individuality and singularity to the collective fabric of their communities in sad and tragic ways. Some go insane, others simply get old, and yet others bitterly, or blithely, try to forget.

Throughout China’s history, there seems to have been an overpowering preference for the individual’s submergence into the collective. Confucius lays out the ground rules for this coexistence, and Communism was the harshest, most inhumane, example of that history. Yimou is simply recording this cultural reality. He further demonstrates this with his direction of the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony. The spectacular ceremony consisted of thousands (15,000 in total) of Chinese performers shifting in huge carpets of precise and united movement.

The world of Chinese human coordination is brought to light when Yimou compares Chinese performers to those of North Korea. He says: “Other than North Koreans, there’s not one other country in the world that can achieve such a high quality of performance.” Yimou didn’t compare his 15,000 synchronized human bodies to American or European artistry, but to an enclosed, isolated extreme dictatorial state like North Korea.

While discussing his experience working with Western actors, Yimou says: “[They] were so troublesome [because] in the middle of rehearsals they take two coffee breaks…[T]here can’t be any discomfort, because of human rights…[T]hey have all kinds [of] organizations and labor union structures. We’re not like that. We work hard; we tolerate bitter exertion.”[] Like the suffering his heroines endure, Yimou confesses that he sees nothing wrong with exerting pressure and discipline on his performers to have them conform to his giant designs.

How different is he and the Chinese, then, from the isolated, dictatorial North Koreans, whose mass parades have garnered his respect? In the name of human collectivity, Yimou acknowledges that Chinese performers are, and should be, willing to tolerate abuses on their bodies, give up their basic human rights, and work under extreme conditions. Yimou’s comparison of neo-Communist, modern Chinese performers with North Koreans is depressingly retrograde. Despite glowing references by the world community, China is still stuck in its past.

Still, one cannot deny the importance of culture and history on a country’s artistic formation. Yimou’s artistic style, both in film and in his latest contribution to the opening ceremonies, is part of Chinese art and artistry, where harmony and cohesion trumps individuality and innovation. This is evident in Chinese watercolor paintings where composition - a concerted effort at harmony – supersedes individual artistic expression. As Yimou’s films themselves show, while his characters go through tremendous suffering and even tragedy, often the best he can come up with is an ambiguous acceptance of the status quo. An outright nihilism or rage would be more understandable, instead of deferment to the collective which in many cases can only be achieved if the individual is sacrificed, like Songlian in Raise the Red Lantern, who goes insane rather than live through her atrocious life.

Olympics which took place in Westernized countries - the US, Australia and Greece to name a few - emphasized more individualized performances and content-rich opening ceremonies, rather than the mastery of synchronized masses. The human presence in these Western performances were a means to a narrative, where one idea leads to another in space and time to tell a story or to reach a point. Most of the Western programs had also a limited in number of performers, since their intention was to use them as actors in a story and not as bodies in giant designs.

Yimou’s primary purpose was to use his human subjects as anonymous forms to make stadium-sized patterns. There was no emphasis on time or space, and the performers were enclosed within their own tightly limited areas. The Western performers, on the other hand, both individuals and groups, often moved from one end of a stadium to another for a particular purpose – to reach a destination, to enter into a building, or as in the young boy in the boat from the Athens show, to reach shore.

Yimou’s shore has now come and gone. The Chinese had their chance to show the world what they were made of. Astute observers will notice that nothing much has really changed in modern China, as exemplified by even their most freest commentator, an artist, who confesses admiration for the artistic endeavors of one of the harshest regime in the world, and admits that he emulates its style.

"Help Ethiopia in her renaissance"

Addis Ababa

An email I sent to my brother who is now visiting Ethiopia along with my parents:
M---, you should observe and study very carefully what the Chinese are up to. Their economy is on shaky grounds. They are using Ethiopia as launching ground for their cheap labour and cheap manufacturing plans into the African continent. They are militarily threatening nearby Asian countries which don't follow their lead. We mustn't let Ethiopia, and its intelligent and industrious people, become one of the "satellite" countries from where they build their African manufacturing and geopolitical base.

Here in Mississauga (and of course in Toronto) they have their "billionaires" (from cheap goods manufactured in countries like Ethiopia) invest in the condo real estate market at million-dollar auctions, and thereby artificially skewing (up) housing prices.

There are other allies Ethiopia can pursue and establish: Germans, French, Americans, Canadians. The possibilities are endless.

Help Ethiopia in her renaissance.
