The AGM's "Razzle Dazzle Banner"
I am now making regular visits to the Art Gallery of Mississauga's website to see what typos I'll find!
This is an organization which has received $320,00+ for the past three years from our generous government's arts councils (i.e. our tax dollars)!
Here is the latest:
In partnership with the City of Mississauga-Celebration Square, experience art everywhere with a monthly artist led workshop where you can learn and create. Led by Collen Snell of local artist collective Frog In Hand, participants will be led in a dance and movement workshop that is a fusion of cultures.Near the end, the name is spelled correctly:
Dances will be led by local artists: Colleen Snell of Frog in Hand, Sandra Rossi of Blueheel Dance and Franchesca Chudnoff.I think that the typo is due to direct typing of the name, whereas the correct spelling is from a cutting and pasting from Snell's website or other online sources. Spellcheck may have saved the day but it seems whoever was inputting the information didn't even bother to turn it on (or ignored the error).
Colleen is a common English name which for the many multicultural staff of the AGM may not be so common.
Misspelling the name of an artist is an inexcusable mistake to make for an art gallery.
