Kendra Ainsworth
Former Curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of Mississauga
Self-absorption s a necessary requirement for a career in the arts
What happened to Kendra Ainsworth, the (former?) Curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of Mississauga? She is not on the list of staff members in the gallery's brand new website, and has recently put up her own website which looks like a job search platform.
Her Linked In page has no mention of her Mississauga position:
Curator, writer, and arts administrator based in Toronto. Strongly committed to supporting artists and to ensuring contemporary art galleries are intellectually, physically and emotionally accessible spaces for visitors to engage with arts, culture and their communities. And her employment chronology indicates that she stopped working for the AGM on June 2018, and that she is currently a "freelance curator and writer."
The contemporary art world is a dog-eat-dog world where the major actors (for now) are the non-White immigrant artists. Perhaps Ainsworth inadvertently insulted some of them? It's not hard to do especially since she comes from that racist white race and has to ALWAYS toe the line if she (and her ilk) want any promotions, salary increases, bonuses and vacation pay. Or she was just incompetent, to give those gallery leaders some credit.
In any case it is hilarious! She was part of the team that demeaned me several times, including setting the Mississauga cops on me for asking questions at AGM panels and presentations.
